Your comments would be appreciated.

I'm in the middle of compiling an Operations Manual for a Manufacturing Company; within the content is a section on "How To"

Question is - As a reader of a manual, would you prefer to see an overview/methodology in the front sections followed by an Appendix containing the detailed "How To" or would you prefer to see the "How To" section within the main body of the manual?

Appreciate that there are two different methods - hence I'm asking for critique/comments

Thanks Guys.

Best

Yep that's already in.

I'm thinking of the practicality of flipping from the front to the back of the manual, it's not a massive manual only 200 pages in total.

Thnx for feedback

If the 'overview/methodology' is inadequate alone - ie one has no option but to refer to the Appendix to find out how to do whatever it is - I'd prefer not to flip.

Think of a Haynes manual - list of contents in the front and the Stuff in the middle. And an index is useful too.

Are there any specific requirements in terms of British Standards or other regulatory items?

Thnx for replies.

I was thinking like you John and that's what I've done.

Glad you got your Jag sorted in the end, I think I might have "popped a fuse" wink , you seemed nice and patiently in control- nice to read and not some have some knee jerk reaction.

No standards Kevin, I'm trying not to boil the ocean lol!

Ooh a secret follower!

I like to 'tread softly but carry a big stick', and my IQ is usually higher than the adversaries which helps make up for not knowing about spanners... after some minor skirmishing I got £250 of my £403 back smile
