Chimaera verses Cerbera

My chimaera 400HC will be going up against a Cerbera on the Le Surrey Run Reims Grand Prix challenge in early September.

That means I have 5 months to get my weapon of choice in good order.

Having new suspension and brakes fitted at the end of April... that leaves me with what option to go for in terms of power boosters and upgrades.

Now, I think the focus here is on respectability. I'm not looking to NOS the hell out of the cerb... but equally it would be nice to think that i'm not going to spanked all around Reims.

I'm thinking along the lines of starting with a Tornado chip and MA/Austec remapping... leading to a super charger. (I really have no idea as to what can be done).

Has anyone done any good power upgrades to their chimaera? Any suggestions? (for the moment cost isn't an issue) What is the best way to squeeze a few more BHP out of TVR's finest creation?

I have seen not one, but TWO Cerbies on tow-trucks today - one on the A3, the other on the M27.

You'd better talk to GreenV8S.. I would imagine you'd want the charger in place before the mapping though, or you'd just have to do it all again afterwards.

Out of curiosity, if you were after ultimate performance would you not have been better off going for a 500 in the first place?

Talk to TVR Power about the Taraka (I have one) -- from the few other modded cars I have met, the Taraka had the top bhp, by a short bit of a gnat's dangly bit.

Or follow Jon 'drop some yank in there' Ellsion and pretend its all TVR

So its a Tuscan or a Cerb for me.

Car is on the road... however I have "noisy bushes" (whatever a bush is) ... thought about posting a thread to see if anyone can help on how to silence the bushes with lubrication oil however came to the conclusion that if i posted a thread entitled "noisy bushes - lubrication needed - please help" i'd be ostracised from ph.

i'm loving the idea of a cerb too. as soon as the stinky merc goes - later this year, i may have to be a 2 TVR family.

Serious power increase would be needed to close the gap with a Cerbera, which I guess means forced induction and a big bill ... or how about finding a wrecked Cerb and shoving its 4.5 AJP8 into the Chim?
