Not everyone is enamoured with the engine.
After 50+ years of charismatic, normally aspirated, flat-sixes in the 911, the turbo hasn't exactly won critical acclaim.
You mean apart from "engine of the year" award for its category?? (https://www.ukimediaevents.com/engineoftheyear/results.php?id=66)After 50+ years of charismatic, normally aspirated, flat-sixes in the 911, the turbo hasn't exactly won critical acclaim.

No problems so far. Wonderfly enjoyable engine, exciting at the top end of 2nd/3rd yet easy to press on in normal driving conditions using the lower down torque. Sounds great. I was concerned with regard to the new turbo engines but after driving back to back with the 991.1 had no difficulty in going for the new car.
I'm hoping to add a classic 911 to the garage at some point to compliment it and enjoy a different 911 experience (far more than just the engine characteristics).
