25k budget

Hi all,

If you had a 25k budget for a car, would you buy new or used?

Things like, MK2 focus rs, S2000, evo, 370z, some bmws, Subaru, golf r, type r so on. I'm very open to tuning so none of the cars listed above would stay stock so the cheaper cars would allow more money for mods.

I know they are all different, but what would you do, spend the 25k on a car? Or buy a car for 15k and keep the 10k And buy a daily For a couple grand? Spend money on a new car and drive it everyday? Or buy a car simply for hoons and weekends and nice weather and just buy a daily? Example would be buy an evo and an old golf tdi? or just buy like an m140i and smash it all day everyday?

The car would have to be capable of a good hoon, and good mountain runs, twisties, good speed and possiblly even used on a track.

I dont live far from work, only about 3 miles each way.

Personally I'd spread the budget across two / three more focused cars - ie a sports car, a luxury barge and a snotter.

Haha, I was just about to be a broken record and say I'd buy a 996 for around £15-£18k and a runabout for 1 or 2k and keep the rest for maintenance etc.

For B Road blasting & Trackday work then for me it would have to be one (the grin on your face will be huge) of these:



Now the above can be used on the road a daytime M.O.T & a numberplate hanger means you can enjoy the B Roads too.

Then you could still buy a decent daily such as an ST/330i etc.

Or if it has to be a car then a Megane 275 Trophy or the regular version with the Ohlins suspension, then go & pay the people at K Tec Racing a visit so you're modifying fix can be sorted.

Yes but it's still only a 996.

A lovely daily runabout but not as special as a Tuscan. Even if it is the better car.
