Why does my car start without the alarm fob ?

If you do not have the fob then you have not armed the alarm so car will still start.

Also if you unlock the car with the key (being an older car) then this action will arm / disarm the alarm

Lock the car, indicators will flash to show armed and then try and start without unlocking, alarm should sound.

Thanks , I thought the fob gave a signal out without pressing any buttons .
