Here's how to fight back.

Pity he won by default but at least he got significant costs. Just shows how much barristers earn!

I'm not sure where his consumer protection breach comes from, but if there is inadequate sings he has a valid defense I guess.

The daily wail are a bunch of lazy muppets, the photo is of the west bound services and this guy was travelling from Hereford to London i.e. east bound.

I think they are as bad as each other, parking eye deserve a poke in the eye but legal people saying I fought a personal case for the benefit of the public just gets up my nose. Why don't they just say they fought it because it was wrong and if it helps anyone else that is a bonus.

He won by default as they didn't turn up. This does not set a precedent.

There needs to be some sensible policy on motorway services and parking as asking people to take a break and having limits 2 hour limits daft.

It would be interesting to know how Government agencies respond to getting Parking charges on their vehicles

I wonder whether these companies vet the DVLA keeper details prior to issuing PCN.

A1 has decent sized laybys ,which motorways do not have ,where you could stop for a week if you wanted to.

According to the link (and in other reports last week) the representative for the parking company did attend but was told by court staff that the case was not on the list of hearings and left.

I imagine they could easiily afford a QC themselves and perhaps might win that case, but given he could represent himself at no direct costs they didn't really want him to appeal further up the chain where it could cause damage.

A strategic disappearing Rent-a-brief knew which fights to pick, although looking at his arguments they may have been a bit hasty since he prattled on a bit

Nothing has changed in over 50 years policy wise the only changes have been ANPR and POFA 2012
Service areas were provided for drivers to take a break from driving, if you want to stay longer than 2hrs you can for a parking fee.
What would you suggest 3hrs, 4 hrs, a day, 2 days or enough time for a 2 week meet and greet holiday ?

Take for example these clowns ROADCHEF

Their current information is out of date and the charges at taunton deane are not these >

http://www.roadchef.com/pdf/parking/parking-charge...

They updated the attached in march after my legal letter but its still states £90 at the top and only says £100 which is whats on the bottom as the PCN Amount.

Their signs on site do not state £100 yet thats what their notice said!

Can't even agree and get their signs correct

If you comply with the terms of parking it doesn't matter what the breach charge is.
