How long to get my licence back

I've been Scameraed. I got the letter today asking me to send them sixty quid and my licence. I'll need it to hire a car in a couple of weeks, and then again a couple of weeks after that.
If I send it off how long until I get it back?

Takes between 1 and 3 weeks to get licence back.

Mine took 3 weeks despite the Q & A sheet stating that it will be returned in 7 days.

If you know where you'll be hiring the car from - maybe not, I know - you could go in now and show them the licence and do the paperwork, sorted. If not, looks like the three week thing could be a real downer...no hurry, public sector...
