Thinking of adding a Grinnall Scorpion to the fleet (S1 Elise, Smart Roadster, Audi S4 for the squiddly peep). Don't need it, stupid thing to do, but...

Wanted to go the SKD kit route for a bit of fun(?), think that's the main point really. Not got a vast amount of mechanical experience, but willing to give it a go - am I bonkers?

Any views/experiences or things I should watch out for?

Saw a NASTY accident near Battle with one of these, stopped to help and the bloke said "it just flipped unexpectedly and without warning". Apparently they need the snow plough on the front, to help stability

Alternative: www.blackjackzero.com

Site not fully working yet, for more info contact Richard Oakes on 01326 574464.

Main difference to Grinnall:
Front engined (aircooled 4-cyl) and FWD with slave rear wheel instead of one rear wheel pushing the trike forwards.
Brand new design with a genuine pedigree.

Best regards,

What about the new four wheeled one with Audi 1.8T power? Bit of a hooligan's special from what I've read

I've got one, great fun & turns heads like you wouldn't believe.

However, it demands respect. When pushing hard it will pick up the inside front wheel - leaving two wheels that are not aligned with one another left on the tarmac (this is when they generally turn over!).

Stay within the limits and it's v. quick. Taxed as a bike too!

Get in touch if you want to know more.

Thanks Jim,

Off to Bewdley next week to have a poke around...

Not intending to push too hard (don't have faith in my hands and feet) so hopefully won't tempt a "revert to motorcycle" incident!
