Hi all

My home insurance won't cover me for any more watches.

I have therefore got to change provider but many have a £20k total value limit or £40k. Therefore the mainstream people don't appear suitable

Who do you use?

Or do you use normal home insurance and then have your watches on standalone cover with someone?

The premium I'll be paying will be hundreds per month and I'm just beginning to question my sanity.

Surely there is something I'm missing?

Cheers

The best.

John Lewis home insurance goes to £40k for specified personal possessions.

Put the Sub and DJ with March. Lots of jewellers, and my AD, insure with them too.

Try Highworth Insurance. They got me a combined home contents/buildings insurance policy with Covea, with insurance for my watches included. Went through my watches with them, agreed replacement values, gave proof of my safe rating. Sorted. The whole policy was only £350 more than my old buildings/contents without the watches.

Hiscox!

Expensive for home cover, but customer service when you need to claim is exemplary (in my experience).

Expensive Watches can be included for marginal extra premium.

I think I paid less than £50 extra per annum to add my Rolex onto my house insurance - none of the other watches needed to be listed separately as there were less than £5k.

Have you tried Axa? They were most competitive for me.

Like me, the OP says he can't do this as he's at his max for valuables. I tried to find a home insurer who would do more than £40k, without paying silly prices, and taking separate cover for one watch was the cheapest and easiest way. If you know of a better solution I'd be keen to hear it?

Third.. however if you can tag it onto a home insurance policy it would be cheaper...

I'm right at the limit of personal belongings with my current insurer and after my recent Cartier purchase I'll need to switch at renewal.
I've looked at TH March, how does their valuation process work for items over a set value?
