Car Suggestions for My Dad
Discussion
My Father, has decided it's time to replace his car ( E Class Cab Auto diesel) as it's starting to become more problematic for him and my Mum to get in an out of.
Therefore he wants something higher up (my Mum has a Captur). He liked the idea of a convertible still but the only one I could think of was an Evoque and he doesn't like the look plus it's too wide for the garage.
Thus far I've considered:
Audi Q3/Q5 - he didn't like the 3 and the 5 is too big
BMW X1/X3 - he's just not keen
Mercedes GLA - he likes
Mercedes GLC (too big even though it's marginally smaller than the E Class)
Porsche Macan - he likes
Mazda CX5/Renault Kadjar/Tiguan/Ateca/Kodiaq/Rav4/CRV - not premium enough
Alfa Stelvios - he just won't entertain an Alfa
Volvo XC60 - he's just not sure
So the current favourites are a GLA or the Macan, which are somewhat different propositions. Must be auto and have a panoramic roof.
Have I missed anything out in the crossover market ?

Skoda Yeti? (Soon to be replaced by the Karoq)
Skoda Kodiaq?
Dacia Duster?
Or is the "premium" badge stuff more what he's after?
Premium is going to be needed as he's worked his way up to something nice and this will probably be his final car so wants something premium. Skoda Kodiaq?
Dacia Duster?

Lexus RX? - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...
or NX if wanting slightly smaller?

New F150 Platinum.

Why would anyone want their final car to be so tedious as to the previous suggestions?

Edited as I went off on a 3000 word rant about Venezuela and then thought better of it.

Everyone knocks the Evoque but if you want a "high up" convertible, that's the only offering. So if you don't like that, you're stuck. Shame no one else does a similar vehicle.
I think there's a real gap in the market for a less premium brand high up convertible, around £15-20K. Something like the Renault Captur or Nissan Juke or Jeep Renegade in convertible form. Or Nissan Qashqai soft top.
