A few months ago I had posted about rear end crashing on suspension, on my Cayman 981 2.7.
It appeared that no others had found this problem on their cars.
So that everyone is aware of what happened, here is the story.
When I leave my drive, there is about 2 miles of country road to the dual carriage way. As time went on the right rear started knocking on the country road. Thinking perhaps it was just me understanding that the car will struggle with lumps and bumps before you hit the smoth dual carriageway, I still thought nothing of it?
It firstly appeared as just a clonk now and again, but then morphed into a double clonk on the right rear.
I then noticed that the rear right bounced on a sleeping policemen on that side.
I bounced both the rear sides and the right was knackered.
Warranty payed out for replacement right rear mcpherson strut fitted at porsche specialists in Peterborough.
So, two things..... This appears to be a rare occurrence confirmed at the specialist, so not a big worry.
And can recommended TWG porsche specialists, Peterborough, very nice bunch of chaps, for repaires and service.
Car now back to normal.....
