definitely true I'd say. I've seen it happen.
I suggest that it is possible to have a soul mate with whom one might knock boots/go out with/GF/BF/be married to but I contend that it's unlikely

I went to uni with the intention of pursuing as many females as possible. 3 days in I met a girl who I had an instant connection with, we liked similar things (food, music, rugby etc), had very similar views on things and really connected. The friendship developed before the "relationship" did.
