I spoke to a lot of people at York last weekend. With Mintex wanting to relay the track for their own personal use for testing then we are faced with a complicated deal to relay a new strip alongside the old one and all the facilities have to be demolished or relocated off the tarmac. So it could mean then end of York raceway all together or could mean we build a fantastic new track and facilities to a standard that doesn't put a lot of people returning. I have passed on concerns and comments regarding the state of the toilets, the in road etc.
The place needs a rethink management wise and a lot of the people that can make the difference are talking. So fingers are crossed big time.

Anyway.... Andy Turner has had this idea....

'CerbFest 17 Part Deux
York Raceway and convoy to TVR Finale
Weekend of 30th Sept & 1st Oct 2017
Are you ready for part deux of the carnage of Cerbfest 17? Due to a number of Cerberas being tucked up for winter (or broken down), ALL TVR’s are welcome, on the proviso of play hard, party hard, and being slightly nuts helps too. (all part of Cerbera ownership). We need some healthy opposition to some of our loud owners. PS Cloth caps and whippets to be left at home please.
Friday 29th Sept: A gentle "LEGAL" drive up North to York (please watch out for camera vans, southerners)
Stay where you like, plenty of local B&B’S / hotels, or camping with us idiots at the race track is £5 per person per night, or you can join us Saturday morning.
Saturday 30th:
Drag racing @ York Raceway (Seaton Ross, York. YO42 4SS)
We have requested that we get our own mini event set up on the drag strip which will be confirmed soon but we can also race all day, just join the line and enjoy! There is a high grip, all-weather track, so we can race no matter that the weather is like!!!
Entry is £15 per person
Racing £40 per car race all day
  • * MUST USE HELMETS***
We can spend the day messing about and have a good laugh and obviously there will be plenty of willy waving!
Evening will be back to a good old BBQ, fire and drinks.
Sunday 1st October:
Convoy down to Rotherham for the TVRCC Finale @ Wentworth Woodhouse (Wentworth, Rotherham, S62 7TQ)
£5 per car (with pre book)
I'm sure one or two Chims would be able to put on a good show against the willy waving Cerb owners.'

I think its a brilliant idea and hope to see plenty of our Chimaeras turn up also.
I can guarantee you will like York, the people are fantastic, the track is good (all my personal bests are at York) and you will get plenty of tack time. The best part is you only actually queue for a short time as RWYB comes out of separate pits as the regular race classes so you get to se all the action.

I will also arrange a few trophies to be handed out at the end of the day!

Would have been great to go to this but I'm pretty sure it's the same weekend as neil garner's open day which is pretty much the other end of the country frown

Aah that's a shame. I hope a few can make a weekend of it, got to Neil Garners and drive upto York after. I will have the firepit lit ready.
RWYB will be available Sunday and Monday too
