Following on from the thread:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I took my watch to my local Timpsons who replaced the battery, but the watch is still not working, so there is something fundamentally wrong with the mechanism.

They wanted £55 to send the watch away for a service, but with no guarantees it could be fixed for that price. The watch is worth next to nothing, but does have some sentimental value, so I'm wondering if there is anyone on PH who can take a quick look for a nominal fee and confirm whether it is possible to repaid the watch cheaply or whether the time has come to consign it into the bin?!

Cheers

Definitely Joe. Too busy to post but not too busy to take on work. I believe that his turnaround times are still good.

Thanks mate,

I've currently not got a watchmaker on the books so am sending work Joe's way. Look up Variomatic or give Anglesey Watches and Clocks a call on Monday.

I can get Joe to do it. That's as much as I can offer currently. My old watchmaker is only doing private work these days so I can't persuade him otherwise

Thanks, but Joe has already got back to me via email and I'll be sending the watch to him next week. I've told him there is no rush as I understand he is very busy at the moment!

Thanks for the recommendations.
