Can't comment on retro-fit, but heated seats probable quadruple the number of days you can drive a Boxster with the roof down - without having to dress at Millets
Yes, well this is my experience as well, having possibly been spoilt by my 996 having heated seats amongst other upgrades. All of which make it a bit hard to find the right spec 981 for next time. Hence the question about retrofit!

I have never specified them on new cars nor used them on pre-owned cabriolets. But then in my youth I drove a MG Midget in the winter always roof down unless raining hard. Modern youth - hah!
In my youth I had two Spitfires, took the hood up and down all the time and had the broken nails to prove it. In my dotage though, I prefer a bit of comfort

Haha, I also drove an MG Midget daily for 9 years including Aberdeen winters...and my heater never worked a day since I bought it!- there were ten of us living in shoebox int' middle of t' road...*
