I have recently purchased a 1982 land rover for weekends when I go walking outdoors. The Land Rover is in OK shape but has some rust and corrosion due to the age. I have been looking at this company who provide rustproofing treatment services has anyone had any experience with their services https://www.dinitroldirect.com/dinitrol-treatment-...

Dinitrol stuff is excellent, lots like it more than say waxoyl. I've just had exactly what I think you're planning done to my range rover. Its a horrid messy job to do but not hard. I chickened out and paid someone else!
As long as the structure is sound before they start and that its all cleaned and dry then its got to be a good idea.

Thanks for the advice if it's a messy job I will leave it to the treatment centre.

How bad is it?

If the chassis and bulkhead are rotten, then galvanised replacements are the best way forward. There are some other steel bits of the bodywork - mostly box sections and support frames - but they're not terribly hard to protect. Remember, welding areas that have already been waxed is not fun...

DKL,

I'm thinking of having the same done to my DS. Some questions:

1. How long did you leave your car while the work was being done? Can it be done in a day? If not, did they offer a loan car?

2. How expensive was it roughly?

These guys did it for me

They need it 2 days at least to allow for drying, I didn't enquire about courtesy cars but it will vary from place to place anyway.
As 2cv says it needs to be done after the welding not before and is a preventative or the coming years and won't magically repair rough bits!
I paid 450 for a 108" rr chassis.

Have a look at Buzzweld Products. Considered to be very good and a relative newcomer to market. Run by a guy called Craig Jones (I think) and he is a regular on some of the large Land Rover FB groups.

I have ordered one of their all in ne chassis coating for my rear cross member. If I remember, I'll post up the result .
