I have decided to take my Boxster s on its 1st track day (23/4 at Donington.) Do I need to do anything to the car other than give it a good check over?

I trackd my previous car, a 2001 Boxster S. There's not much to do. Make sure all the fluids are topped up, oil/water.....and is the brake fluid likely to be OK? Make sure there is plenty of meat on the brake pads, and a fair bit of tread on the tyres. I would drive with hood up for added safety. Can you fit in with your helmet on?

My car coped faultlessly!

Same here, not much to do except check the fluids.

I bought and fitted a new set of pads prior to going but kept my last set as they where not worn out. Just didnt want to risk running out of pads etc. For £50 it seemed like the right thing to do.

Oh take out some Track insurance, if you take it out you wont need it if you dont........

I took out £5k of cover I think not to cover a full write off but would cover most things that might happen.

Other than that go have fun!

Thanks for the advice people

Just returned from the event. Top day, car performed floorless unlike the driver (minor 360 at coppice.)

The value of track cover was brought home when a chap in a very nice Focus managed to role it on the craner curves ouch!.
