Had some clutch pedal issues, topped up the master cylinder and bled the clutch. All back together, seemed fine.

Test drive, changing into neutral at a stop then lotsa acrid smoke from beneath the bonnet.
Small panic, pleasedontbeafire pleasedontbeafire pleasedontbeafire. Turns out that the fluid leaked from the union into the hot manifold.

Local TVR specialist (Elmwood) not an option until November.
Question is, is this the sort of job you'd be happy to leave with a decent garage?

Which union?
May need nothing more than a quarter turn of tightening.
If you have refilled and bled the system you should be more than capable of fixing yourself.

However, if you have already tried this then perhaps it needs a new pipe which any competent garage should be able to do.

Cheers Steve. It's the wing union from the master cylinder
I'm scared of breaking it completely and having a stranded car on the driveway.
If it's not a specialist job I'll try tightening it in the knowledge that it can be dragged to a garage when I do break it.

Any garage can fix this but the pipe may also be fractured (it happens) any decent garage can carry out this simple task getting a new pipe made up locally may not be so easy however , hopefully like suggested may be just a loose union just nip it up if it stops leaking you have found the culprit ., dont ignore it over a certain temp brake/clutch fluid is very flammable frown
