Just wondering how you felt about this.

On the tube yesterday siting minding my own business at the end after along day at work and noticed the woman next to me leaning over and talking to the woman sitting opposite. Didn't pay any attention.

Then the tube stopped and heard the woman next to me was talking about the woman opposite's shoes being dog fur, coming from China and she shouldn't be wearing them. I looked and she did have some furry shoes on.

Got to Stratford a couple of stops later where the tube stops and noticed the woman next to me's phone had a Facebook page with the woman opposite's head and the yellow hand rail on it (also the disticntive looking woman sat next to furry shoe woman). The woman next to me was typing frantically under the picture.

Everybody got off and I waited for the woman with the phone to catch up with me and told her I'd be pretty pissed off if somebody took a picture of me on a tube without me knowing. She went on about dog fur shoes, I said they may have been nylon, but she said she knew alright. confused

She didn't appear to be a nutter or anything,

Anyway, I found that a bit much, just taking a picture of somebody on a train opposite without them knowing and posting on social media. Unethical shoes or not.

Very odd behaviour.

Actually speaking to a stranger on the tube?

I'd probably be annoyed as well, but in a public place there is no expectation of privacy, hence no specific permission is required to take a photo of you.

A friend was on the tube when she worked up there and saw someone famous. She texted her other half who didn't believe her so she took a photo...with the flash on.

That should have been the end of the story, and all of the story.

Sorry it it's a bit cool story bro, but how do you feel about being photographed and stuck on Facebook without your knowledge? OK with it?

there is some uproar in the news today because some "lifestyle blogger" type took a photo, put it on Instagram for all her followers, of a group of tradesmen in McDonalds and she captioned it "These lot look theyve only got 1 GCSE between them" or something.

Sure, no expectation of privacy in public but, feels a bit wrong to have your image used in that way, does it not?

OP looks at stranger's phone on the tube, then complains about stranger not respecting someone's privacy... hehe

You asked for opinions. Mine is that you should have continued to mind your own business.

In answer to your question: could not begin to give a st about it. Supremely indifferent.

If the point of the OP was "tell me I did the right thing and back me up", then no.

OK fine.

There's a difference between minding my own business, and saying to her that I would have been pissed off he'd taken a secret picture of me like that.

But whatever.

are we talking "Up-skirts"? If so then it's out of order. Pics of random people, well hey, it can happen anywhere and particularly if they aren't actually identified. What are the chances of you seeing someone you know in a pic on the tube or in any other picture?

While you were out in public today, thousands of people looked at you, and most of the time you didn't even know they were looking at you. The outrage of it all!
