What has been flying over my area for the last hour??

I am just north of aberdeen and for the last hour or so i can hear the constant noise of some kind of jet buzzing around overhead but nothing is showing up on flight radar but the picture below is taken from another scanning site.
That aircraft is doing something wierd but it has not been overflying me.
While i was outside listening to to this thing but not being able to see it, i did notice a rapidly flashing single red light on something quite fast moving but the noise didnt seem to be coming from it.
I can still hear it buzzing about overhead...

If there were fighter jets, i assume they wouldnt show up on any of these publcily available sites?
I am wondering if i could actually hear that aircraft while it was buggering about out at sea and it just sounded like it was overhead but that circuit it was doing has to be twenty miles away atleast.

They do show up on the Global ADS-B exchange site. Last week I was watching a Hercules being refuelled by a K35 tanker over the North Sea with a couple of Typhoons buzzing around and they all showed up on that siteI am wondering if i could actually hear that aircraft while it was buggering about out at sea and it just sounded like it was overhead but that circuit it was doing has to be twenty miles away atleast.
