Small, fun, well appointed commuting car

I have a 30 mile commute, mainly A & B roads. Any suggestions for a small, hot (or warm) hatch with a comfortable interior?
Are clios still pretty good?

Volvo C30 - mine's a very nice place to be, some rave about the seats but I'm currently looking at changing them for something with a little more bolster. Thinking S60R seats at the moment.

I'd say a Clio GT LIne is a good shout, they're hard to find but are well equipped swift & a decent steer.

I 2nd the Mito idea. I'm currently in the same boat as OP and considering a Mito.
