Having read all the articles on engine problems , car design problems etc, How can TVR survive with all of these extra costs in extra engines , hire cars, transportation. The costs dont add up to me!!

I think it can survive... Because from what I understamd, most of the time they do not pay for the extra engines, hire cars, transportation, etc, you do. Or if you are realy lucky a warranty will.
