Getting gearbox back on

Any tips for getting the gearbox back onto a polo 6n Diesel?

Just changed the clutch and having a right nightmare trying to get the box back into the space. It keeps getting the driveshaft flange jammed between the engine flywheel and the subframe... can't get it anywhere near the dowels.

There must be a trick to it... I was told it's an easy job.
