I'm talking about the bags you get where you tear the top and pop it in for 2 minutes.

Say I wanted to split it in two portions, what's the best way of doing that and cooking them?

Empty one in to a container and just microwave as normal, and one on the pouch?

You joke but I know rice can be very dangerous when cooling and reheating so I don't want to risk the sts or worse.

Although I figure this stuff has had all the badness nuked out of it anyway.

OP I think the best thing would be to chuck it away and make some fresh rice. Can't be too sure.

Nonsense, I do exactly what the OP is requiring all the time, and has ZERO repercussions.

Just make sure the rice is hot when reheating.

OP: open the pack, pour half into a container or bowl covered with cling and put it in the fridge. Nuke the other half and eat. Do the same with the bowl in the fridge within 48 hours and you'll be fine.

I remember I got a kebab on the way home one a Saturday night, popped it in the microwave and forgot all about it till Monday afternoon.

Reheat. Yum.

I knew I'd get ripped, but no harm in asking.

For what it's worth I currently do cook the rice myself, and cool it for the next day. But it always seems to lose something (not heat!).

I usually eat half a portion one night and the other half the next.

Just microwave the full pouch for 2 mins as normal. Add the other half to next nights tupperware box and microwave it as part of the next meal as normal.

Not had any issue. I think there is a lot of myth about microwaving rice, all the Asian and Chinese people I know have always done it and been fine.

Reheating isn't the problem it is how it was stored beforehand.
