Hand foot and mouth disease.

Since my youngest came into the world eighteen months ago I have been plagued with whatever bugs and illnesses he has had. Stomach upset, colds, coughs sickness etc he just hands them over once he has had some use of them.
The latest is hand foot and mouth. He had it quite bad, flu symptoms and then blisters in his hands feet, groin and round his mouth. He's getting over it probably as I seem to have inherited it.
Flu symptoms Sunday til Tuesday and now I have spots on my hands and feet, nowhere near what my son did.
NHS website suggests that I don't need to see a doctor (I wasn't planning that anyway) but I'm due back at work tomorrow after a set of days off. I'm not one for staying off work but other than these spots I feel fine now. How long should I stay away for if at all? The NHS website says til you feel fine and you don't need to stay off til the last blister is healed. I feel fine but I don't want to pass it on especially when a few in the office have young kids.

We went through the same when our twins where born, ever illness under the sun, it gets better.
My daughter had HFM disease 3 weeks ago. 1st my son had flu like symptoms, so did the wife and I. Thought nothing off it, then one day my daughter woke up and we noticed the spots/blisters appearing over her hands, feet, and mouth. My wife went to the pharmacy to get some cream, we where told to ring the doctor. We did and he confirmed it was most likely HFM and that we should avoid crowded places and especially pregnant women. So for 7 days we didn't take her out. We waited till she felt better and the blisters where mostly over, massive pain, but I would rather that than risk infecting other people as it is highly infectious.
Are you sure it is not chickenpox? We ruled it out as twins had it at age 2 and both the wife and I had it as kids.

Our wee man (also 18months) has just recovered from his week of fever, blisters on his hands, between his toes, in his groin and around his mouth..... and of course the night time crying 😔
Keep the fever/pain under control with Paracetamol and cold drinks, plain ice lollies and a cool bath are always popular.
Once the blisters have started to dry out you are over the worst and no longer contagious.
