My 40th birthday was celebrated by my wife saying "Here's 10 quid, go to the fish and chip shop and get yourself something" smile

I kinda guessed the surprise party wasn't happening when it got to about 9pm...

Disappointed by the title........ I was expecting to hear tales of derring-do whereby you had done something 40 times over the course of 10 days.

Never mind, age is a state of mind.

Don't worry about it, when your husband gets you toTurkey, I'm sure he'll be really nice and treat you to a nice meal etc. It's just a number, I bet you still look great in your bikini.

Cossy,
I turned 70 last weekend. Believe me you are in a good place!
Never imagined I would be staring 70 in the face. I still feel about 30 in mind if not body!
Drive a Cayman, still work in our business, drink, smoke and live life to the full.
Live life a day at a time. You are just a boy mate.

My best mate died at 28.

Go live your life you idiot!*

  • this is meant in a motivational way. Seriously. There's a good reason birthdays are celebrated!

Dont let it just past by, celebrate it, do something special. I did last year and still gives good memories. Some of my friends did not, treated like it any other birthday now regret it.

Life is short celebrate it and look forward.

Nah, fk it. The tiny speck of rock we find ourselves on has just completed another lap of the nearest big fiery ball of gas. Who cares?

I think on my 40th I went shopping and bought some sellotape. That was sufficient for me.

After 40 I found I was more of a duct tape man, myself.

Guess you just need stronger restraints as the body declines....

Well my weekend of debauchery (spelling police your welcome)(after reading these comments) has already had a set back.

Apparently "I" (read that as MRS400) had agreed that "we" would take the future son in laws parents to where they are getting married next year.

Not even 40 and my memory has left the building....

Seriously, I know its no age and to be thankful for what you have etc.

Recently saw a post on stbook, woman I went school with died in July and he birthday was last week she didn't even make 40.

I had a downer when I turned 30.

It was the realisation my life hadn't turned out as expected, not bad or anything but just a different route. I came to terms with it, actually it was better.
