I used to run a nightclub and now run a restaurant. This means I usually finish work at around 11pm and get home for 11:30pm.

Get home, change of clothes. Grab a drink or some food and lie down on the sofa as I've been on my feet all day. Usually watch an episode of something on Netflix. Currently it's Narcos. I'll spend about an hour or so on the internet whilst watching TV. One PH, , check the news out and wind up a few people on the MSE motoring forum.

On a Saturday night, a friend will meet me at work, we'll have a drink whilst the staff are breaking down and then we'll head out for either a Chinese or an Indian.

I'm a musician on a cruise ship. I come back to my cabin, have a G&T and 2 single malts, catch up on PH and the F1 websites. Then do it all again the next day. I am lucky as my work day starts around 930PM.

I work nights so my wind down is 'going to bed'.

Used to be the bar next to the office, now it's either change a nappy or the bar next to the office!

(Then change a nappy)

Get my boys fed and ready for bed.

More 'winding up' than 'winding down'!

Then either go for a run, go cycling or crack open a beer and surf the net / watch something on catch up.

Sounds like a good life!

I am a service advisor in a main dealer. Finish work at 18:00, get home, prepare food and spend the evening in front of the TV, whilst browsing. Generally not stressed too much at work so I don't normally feel knackered at the end of a shift.

Many years ago when I was working in Euston, ritual was to walk around Regent's Park. I find walking to be very therapeutic in allowing one to unwind.

Now that I drive to work, I sometimes walk around Stanmore Country Park before jumping into the car. Otherwise it's being met at the door by my Little Man (13 months old), spending some time w/ my partner and the Little Man (making cups of tea), then preparing dinner whilst watching something on YouTube.

I usually get out of the office around 6pm and my wind down ritual begins as soon as I start the car, and involves either blasting out a few tunes or making a couple of calls to friends or family en route. Its only a 20 min commute though.

Depending on if I have my sons that evening, I'll be making their dinner or taking them to/from football training or being homework assistant. If I don't have them, it'll be meal for one and then gym. After that, I'll either be chilling out with the kids watching a movie and catching up with some chores, or if they are with their Mum, I'll be out with the new and significantly younger missus.

Oddly, I cook dinner; the wife gets in an hour or so after I do, I enjoy cooking and as stressful as cooking can sometimes be, it actually de-stresses me.

Normally home by four in the afternoon. So plenty of time to do jobs in the garden or on the vehicles or do a bit on a project.

Mrs Magoo is home about six,so it's a chat with an appero or two. I get cleaned up while she cooks.

Bit of tv on while we browse the net or a film after dinner.

Sometimes a bit of paperwork.

I get 30 minutes of peace in the car on the way home then have to deal with my two kids going hyper because Daddy's home. Thursday's are okay though as the kids are at swimming so I get to go out for a run as soon as I'm home. Sometimes the wife has done dinner so that we all eat together, this is a nightmare as the kids are knackered from school and therefore at their worst on the behaviour front. Then it's into the bath and bedtime routine, luckily they are generally quite good on this front and will settle to sleep after a story.

On Tuesdays I do a run after they're in bed. The wife and I then have about 1-2 hours of telly or whatever else if we manage to stay awake and then bed time.

I'm told it gets easier biggrin

I work from home - finish around 5.30 and jump on the cross trainer. Dinner after, then dad's taxi drives the kids around to various activities and clubs before I can veg at around 9pm!

My garden is a restless monster that requires a bit of work every night, so I get home from my manual job, change out of one set of work clothes into another and do an hours' gardening.

But I also have a bulldog pup who is home alone in the day, so is just a bit excited to see me. So the first thing I do is take my specs off, lie on the floor and let him jump up and down on me for about ten minutes until he's calmed down.

I'm lucky enough to be home about 17:30.

I get 20 mins sitting slack jawed staring at kids tv.

18:00 trying to convince a 3 year old to get ready for bed, read Peppa Pig / Paw Patrol Books. (with wife)
18:20 Watch 'In the Night Garden' usually whilst still reading kids books. (with wife)
18:40 Drag 3 year old to bed, sometimes peacefully, usually not. (with wife)
18:40 reading books in bed, the sleep song, answer surreal questions she's been saving up all day. (with Wife)
19:00 Prepare dinner whilst Mrs showers etc.
19:20 Play Forza whilst it cooks.
19:45 serve dinner and eat.
20:30 convince 11 year old to go to bed, who suddenly remembers he's hungry and will now finish dinner, beg for another 10 mins to finish Youtube video, piss about for 15 mins doing stuff he should have done hours early, do things loudly to wake his sister as he thinks this will means he can't climb the stairs - play 'the bad guy' to finally get him to go to bed.
21:00 30 push ups, 60 crunches, 2x 60 second planks.

Then watch TV for an hour, usually something on Netflix, bed not long after 10pm Mrs sleeps, I watch another hour of TV, she has to be up before me. I rarely remember what I've watched on TV.

We take a night a week off each, I'm out on my bike, she's usually doing some mad trampoline / circuit training hybrid class.

Weekends are pretty much the same, but with booze and occasionally a takeaway.

Boring, stationary office job. So nothing to wind down from.

Usually I go do the opposite and either hit the gym or go swim training (which normally involves making your heart feel like its going to burst...on hard sets that require working at 0-10 beats below max HR).

Then go home for food

Then spend a good few hours feeling way too hot to get into bed.

I really cannot stomach coming home and then slobbing out in front of the TV. If I do that for a week I actually begin to feel totally horrid. I need to do something active, something strenuous.

after work I have an hour commute which is either a wind up or down depending on traffic. then most nights I do some form of martial arts training and on nights when I don't I go for a run, after that i'll eat and watch TV, read a magazine, read rubbish on the internet and generally faff about. however I find trying to just sit and doss about impossible if I've not done some exercise first, I get really restless and irrritable
