Was 'honoured' too strong a term to use in this context?
Discussion
I spoke to a friend about some worries I had. He got back to me saying something like: I'm honoured that you felt you could confide in me and I am glad that you did'
Why did he use the word 'honoured'? I'm still unsure what 'honour' I could have conferred on him just by confiding in him. What does 'honoured' mean in this context?
(I struggle mildly to interpret things like this correctly on my own at times!)
Also - would you say that this person sounds like a good friend?

Thanks for your responses everyone!
I just thought that I should have introduced myself more in my first post!
I have always had a strong interest in cars from a very young age, as I have always been very close to my Grandad who is a second hand car dealer. He repaired cars too in his day, but he's knocking on 80 now (still going with his cars!), so I have had the great privilege of learning how to repair cars from him!
