Taking video clips of your P&J
Discussion
Okay so I've bought a go pro ( other brands are available
) video camera and I'm thinking of making some self indulgent driving clips of me basically blasting about having a nice time.
Is it a good or bad idea to display your registration plate on YouTube or similar?
I ask not from a resale point of view ( I'm a mechanically sympathetic Porsche enthusiast)
More from a slight concern that some little ***** spying your registration plate and then reliveving you of said P&J at 3am!
What do,you think?

Can't answer your question but from my own experience, whilst the quality of my go pro footage when filmed from my car has always been brilliant, the wind noise has always dominated the sound ... and I've got PSE!
I concluded I needed 2 go pros - 1 dedicated to sound that was situatated by the exhaust.
Would be interested to know if you find another solution.

That sounds awesome. These aircooled cars offer so much aural character. Might try that.I'll likely have a soundtrack in the clips along with some engine and exhaust sounds.
Just not 100% sure on whether or not show my car registration on a public domain.
My shonky effort using one Go Pro. Sound is fine at 'in estate' pace, but the wind and road noise drowns out quite a bit on good acceleration.

Best to try the external mic, route.

I always thought that people cover their reg plates in photos and videos to stop people 'cloning' their car.For example -
Person A owns a black 3 series BMW with the reg plate of X1 ABC and lives in London and posts a picture of their car on Instagram.
Person B owns a black 3 series BMW and lives in Liverpool. They see the pic on Instagram and then get the registration plate X1 ABC made online or from a friend and then drive round through speed cameras and perform 'fill-and-runs' from petrol stations etc with impunity.
