Just as I have fixed wiper problem the temp gauge has stopped working. Where is the sensor does it have a fuse. Any help appreciated. The needle on the gauge is not moving at all.
Tried tapping it? Mine sometimes sticks.
The sender is usually behind the dizzy, single blade connector. Put it down to the engine metal and the guage should go up to max.

Thanks your replies. Found the sensor and earthing it makes gauge work so obviously the sensor is shot. Its very tight for space can you replace it without moving the dizzy. Presume its a TVR only part?
If you are a "serp" and have a spare sender(Range Rover) on the head, you can use that, quite easy to spot if you have it. You will need a variable resistor to calibrate, it will read different, ie no more under reading in cold conditions ! and warm up will be different, loads have done the mod and i have never heard of the Range Rover one going phut.
Dave, mine's iffy as well. When I connected where you said it went max, so as you said gauge is fine. So my quetion is? the range rover sensor you reffering to is next to the ECU sensor on the inlet manifold is that correct? also what resister is used to calibrate or should I say can you explain more on how I calibrate and where to get the parts (maplin?)...

Usually a 120 ohm is correct, but if you use a 200 ohm variable you can set it up, make sure its a "heat resistant" one, check the spec ! The Rangie one is a single round terminal next to the ECU one.
