Firstly,

Appreciate similar have likely been done to death but in the interests of remaining current....

Reaching parity on a current PCP and having received a healthy salary increase, my plan is to do what any PH'er would do....buy a cheaper car.

Ok not quite every PH'er...

Motivation is to step away from PCPs/depreciation of new cars and with personal loan rates incredibly low, now seems like a good time. Other financial goals also dictating.

Requirements

- < 5years old
- < 30,000 miles
- Hatch, coupe or estate
- At least what could be described as 'warm'
- Not of an image that every 18 year old McDonald's fan aspires to (been there, done it)
- Do have a preference for German metal but open to all.

All suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Does it matter if its 3 door / 5 door, manual or DSG?

why under 5 years old?

There are cars out there which will work for you. Look at the 2005 GT Mustang,, interestingly enough about 6 years ago you could pick up a good one for £12/£13k, now you're looking at knocking on £20k.

There's a degree of luck involved (obviously) but pick right and you can have fun and (in some cases) actually male a little

If you're happy to go LHD look at a C5 Corvette: great performance, reasonable MPG, quite a few toys (HUD for example), gorgeous sound...

Cheers. i'm maybe have a look. In the market for something like that and having something thats going to depreciate slowly would be an advantage smile

Remember you will be better off with at least Euro 5 petrol (post 2012) or a Euro 6 diesel (post Sept 2015).
Any post 2012 petrol Golf, whatever engine size you wish/afford.

lol why? For dem 1-2mpg gains?
surely someone cares about extra 2mpg which will cost him extra $15 a year when he buys a new car...

I second to this. Modern Mustang is fairly practical too. And looks and sounds good!

I will be honest Daemon, I thought you were taking the piss rofl

If you want to know anything about them (ie. Prices depreciation etc) drop me a PM, but from my purchase price, it has yet to depreciate even a £ smile

Nope. I'm in the market for something like that perhaps. 5 door DSG would be the spec if it were a GTI.

Not wholly convinced i want another 5 door hatch at the door alongside the A45, but the lack of depreciation would appeal smile

EA113 cambelt engine, ko4 turbo, 235ps standard
And will remap to 300bhp.

Currently have a milltek non resonated catback and it sounds wonderful flat out.

Same cars for sale with more mileage on ebay and auto trader for more money than I paid Jan 17.

I find there just isnt a market for ed35. Noone seems to be buying them as the mk7 gti is a better all rounder.

It's popular with tuners as it has the KO4 turbo as standard but I don't think the mk6 ed35 and mk7 are world's apart to be fair.

Mk6 platform is closed to the mk5 platform than the mk7. Infact i put a few mk6 parts on my mk5.

I had an ed30 a few years back, absolutely loved it. Stage 2+ with 360bhp!
