Noticed my boot gas strut was a bit loose - the screw thread at the bottom end of the piston not in all the way. That looks untidy I thought, I'll just give it a twist and tighten it back up. Grasped the black part, so as not to get grease on my hands and twisted it. Great, nice and tight now, I thought, just as the boot slammed shut.
Now the damn thing doesn't hold the boot open anymore. Undid what I messed with and it still doesn't work.
Have I broken it?

Can't help you with the boot, but I can commiserate with wishing you hadn't started something.

Only last week I fitted the hot start relay mod, and have now blown a couple of tracks on the ECU!

Eek - how? I've just done the mod too - but haven't fired her up yet!...
