Exhaust Manifold Temprature

Does anyone know waht temprature the manifolds get. I am doing my B****y gaskets again the tin ones didnt work out. I want to get it right this time so I am using composite gaskets and would like to use loctite 5920 sealant on the mainfold flange to ensure I dont get a leak. The sealants good for 350C/600F.

Any ideas?

My manifolds run at 240 deg C at Idle. It will be a lot higher when revving. I used composite gaskets on mine with no sealant and they work fine. I wouldn't have thought that the sealant you suggest would be up to the job.

The headers get a lot hotter than that. The mounting flanges would be cooled by the heads so they would presumably run cooler, but how much cooler? No idea, but personally I would be inclined to stick with a conventional gasket sealing solution because you know that'll cope with the temperatures OK.
