I've now received all of my monthly car magazine subscriptions and haven't seen a single ad for this years MotorShow (tut tut to the marketing boys and girls).

Anyone know the dates, as I plan to visit on the first Friday (the crowds are a bit easier to cope with.)

Cheers

you may be interested to know that you can get tickets for the preview day (thurs) by calling the NEC and qouting Daily Telegraph Reader offer. the tickets are £25 each but you get 2 for the price of one effectively making them £12.50 each and it should be reasonably quiet. hopefully everything will be on show despite it being a preview day!

A couple of years ago I (for some reason I cannot remember) went to the Motorshow twice, the preview day was busier than the normal day.

I love cars but the motor show is full of kids collecting souvenirs, queues, tired legs, queues, dirty toilets, cheesy stage shows, expensive hot dogs, queues if you're lucky and prepared to queue you may get to touch a Ferrari, see a new model or wow at the latest concept whilst leaning over heads to see.
Drive to your nearest major town, enjoy personal attention from dealers, drink free coffe, relax and be shown all the cars personally - much more civilised.

Agreed, but I just can't resist seeing the latest TVR (with the paint barely dry!)

The thing that pisses me off about the Telegraph offer and other offers of the like is that on the Preview Day the prices are doubled to make it a little more exclusive and keep the numbers down.
Then the "2 for the price of 1" offers come along and make the price the same as the public days. What's the point?

I'd happily pay 3 or 4 times the price for Preview Day if it guaranteed genuinely smaller numbers and more elbow room, but as it stands it doesn't.

I bagged some free tickets to the last one for preview day and later on in the public days...

i found the preview day much quieter although still busy, and it was much easier to get on to stands....

still got totally pissed on the ZF stand on both days

pity they will not be ther this time
