The classic "locked out"

Its very embarasing, left the lights on all day. hopefully someone who recognises me willpost me the entry procedure. Have looked in my manual and theres no reference to how to get in with no power.

Unfortunately its blocking my drive, parked in gear and i need to get out tomorrow.

Im into it, took 2 minutes with no base infromation from here or elsewhere.

Whilst i can see there is some feeling about sharing this information i really dont see that it can be that much of an additional threat. The "secret" method of entry to an Elise boot is generally posted on the boards, which is considerabley more difficult than this one.

In my honest opinion anyone who wants to get into one to steal stuff will probably break a window, its quicker. A serious thief will already know how to do this, or figure it out incredibly quickly.

Anyway, now I'm initiated into the "secret club" i will respect the wishes and keep it to myself.

I agree but I guess there are people who once they know will finding it impossible to not want to break in using the secret method.
Surely you could just use a device to catch the infa red from the alarm and then you can be in and starting it up.

You can buy IR grabbers, but I think that a CAT 1 alarm rotates the code everytime its used. I dont know how it accounts for false key presses though.

Im sure someone will know.

I have no objection to the thread bieng deleted. My point was, I asked for advise, understandably no one was prepared to tell me, so i had a go myself with the results and observations i made earlier.

Would be interested if soeome can explain how a cat 1 alarm codes work though.

I take exception to the "pile of crap" comment. Infact I would even suggest its chav like in its nature.

In my experience people who can afford to run cars like these are usually grown up enough to respect other peoples preferences in performance cars, obviously not the case on this occasion, which is very dissapointing.

By the way please expalin how getting into the boot help someone to steal the car as opposed to its contents which could be a "pile of crap" in either case Surely a brick is a much better way to do both.

I asked the question because i had a genuine need to know the information.

Rob, you will have to get a lights on buzzer put on, they are around two quid and very easy to fit. One wire to the postive of your interior
light and one to a earth.
