At the weekend i got a facebook friend request from someone I haven't seen or heard of since we both left college in 1974.
I'm really not interested in this Friends Reunited schtick, so I declined, reckoning that if you haven't had contact with someone for 43 years there's usually a pretty sound reason.
Then he went onto a Linkedin page I forgot I even had. I had registered, realised it wasn't for me and never even bothered filling any details in.
Then he started following me on Twitter! Looking on his page it said Followers - 0 Following - 1(me). Obvious why he joined Twitter.
What should I do now? I'm not remotely interested in establishing or maintaining any contact with him, although I do not bear him any ill will.
Should I just block him on Twitter and hope he goes away?

He's probably just discovered social media and looking up people he knew

If you don't want to connect, just ignore him

Just ignore the geezer. If he sends you a message along the lines of "Hi mate, long time, no see", just ignore that, too.

No need for blocking unless he says/does something weird.

He might have been trying to get in touch with you for a genuine reason and has no other means and is a bit rubbish with technology. Alternatively he fancies you and has a lot of lost time to make up for so you better buy lube, and aspirin.

Is it to silly to suggest sending him a message asking why the sudden interest?

Yes, very.... if something goes down (Murder for example, which is highly likely in this case as far as I can tell), then it put the OP as the instigator.
