64Gb probably isn't big enough. You'll want the 256Gb version.

The PH classifieds under £1000? Good luck. Full of 'we will sell your whatever', service costs for Ferarris and £10 'oh dear it's sold' bullst ads.

Isn't it c£1.2k for the iPhone X model you will really need to buy? Add in the charge Matt? (Given a lightening cable is £20 I'd imagine a Matt for wireless charging might be a lot more than you'd expect.

Why only get a new phone -- when you can have a Lexus *and* a phone smile?

£60 for the car as a non runner scrapper and £200 of bits to get it running and driving really nice, cluch, ecu, balljoints and engine mounts and a couple of used bits for the gearbox

Leaves enough money left over for a decent samsung

I've always fancied a convertible.

Here's a Merc SLK for £890 , enough change for a new HTC.

I'd rather have the iPhone than all suggestions so far.

Ah, but as a building surveyor, I couldn't take photographs, write survey reports, contact clients and contractors, arrange meetings or fanny about on the internet on my lunch hour on a clapped out old Peugeot 307!

Good thing this isn't a surveyors tool thread then isn't it?
I cant use a jeep to stream 4k video wirelessly over long distances with low latency.

It was a light hearted response to the comment of not getting to work in an iPhone. Some people could work from an iPhone and might not need a car.

To be honest, unless necessity dictated, if I had £1,000 to spend on one thing, a phone or a car wouldn't be the first thing that sprang to mind. Though, given the choice between the two, I've seen a nice BMW 330Ci for £995 smile

I know, I was only playing with you. The jeep would actually help me reach some of the more remote aerial towers.
Mind you, i've had cars from £50 to £25k over my driving life the top 5 most enjoyable ones have all been <£1k (b5 tqs, bmw 740, gte 16v, 20xe nova, and a tie between a w140 s500 or the dildocabrio)

Does need some paint work = rust held together by a superficial layer of paint that's losing the battle.
