The original setup on the bigger Wedges used AP bells and rotas with the Princess Calipers. These are hard to find now. You can use the vented Granada disk (as many do) but I think there is a small amount of pad overhang with this setup. The original setup also requires larger spacers for the caliper as the disk is thicker. So depending on what you decide to do I would be careful that the caliper has the right spacers for the job. Cheers Steve

seen some 4 pot princess calipers on ebay. thank there copies but do have a 24.4 mm spacing. my solid discs are 73mm high on a 1989 model. is this a normal set up as on some sights this says they are off a mrk 1 tasmin 350i. does the stud plate on these fit on to the vented discs.

To be fair I did the conversion on the 280i and there was a difference albeit marginally, my 350i has the original calipers but are spaced to take the Granada mk2 vented discs..Its an improvement but I have also had a new MC fitted and the fluid was changed...all helps...smile

My 390SE is running the larger Granada Estate 2.8i 2 pot calipers, new vented discs and Greenstuff pads and the brakes are superb. I spent the best part of £800 on my 350i upgrading to Hispec 4 pots plus larger vented discs which are also brilliant however I certainly feel that the 390SE stops almost as well, but without the vast expense. Personally I've heard all sorts of issues with bleeding the AP 4 pots so I'd just replace with the larger calipers, suitable pads and new shiny vented discs.
