This story may upset some people, so spoiler alert.

I usually park in the train station car park, that only allows permit holders before 09:xx am and pay an annual fee to do so.

I recently sent off my holographic permit to have one of the two allowable vehicle registrations changed.

The parking firm that manages the park, emailed me a two week temporary permit (letter) to print with the new details whilst the original was amended. So I put that on the dash.

On returning to my car I had a ticket from their attendant, saying that I hadn't displayed a valid permit before the threshold.

Instead of coming on PH and getting the usual advice, I decided to appeal politely and incuded scans of all relevant docs.

They cancelled it, as it was clearly an error by their guy and I had paid and their temp permit letters contain no exlusions.

I think it's a great story - person sorts out problem in sensible manner without resorting to bleating on the Internet about it. Makes a nice change.

You mean you contacted the company in question and came to a satisfactory conclusion before coming to ph for advice?

Are you insane, man!!

Now you are going to miss out on on how to take them to court, pepipoo and endless regaling on how phers have 'beaten the system'.

Hand your ph card in on the way out please.

Some people just don't understand the rules anymore, denying all the company directors their moment of PC fame hehe

2/10.

On first glance it looked promising but it was downhill from the second paragraph onwards. You've not bothered to reference the car you drive, how much you earn, or your trophy second wife. You've also not bothered to mention Muslims, Tony Blair, 1997, or why we have MOBOs but now MOWOs.

Quite frankly you've done the S,P,&L forum a disservice.

+1

I don't know who you think you are coming here and NOT asking for advice or bragging, well out of order really.

Out of professional interest, who was the parking company involved?

There are a few that run various station car parks that are reasonable enough to deal with, and not the usual "computer says no, here's a county court claim form" type of shysters.

Why was the ticket issued in the first place if you were displaying the correct documentation?
Speculative invoice hoping you'd pay up without questioning their motives.

Problem is parking companies are often tts.
It wasn't an "error". The warden guy probably hard a hard on for this guy.

it 'could' be a conspiracy to elicit money, but based the incredulous verbal response from the sales team, my best guess - is a new attendant who didn't know what a temp pass was (I bet its not included in their training)

Also previous attendants have never ticketed me when doing the same thing with registration number changes previously.

The thought had crossed my mind as the emotional stress alone from spending many hours in front of a mirror trying to perfect a grumpy expression with my arms crossed has to count for something.
