I am very happy - just bought a 987 2010 boxster s 3.4 with 39k miles.

My first Porsche....

Now getting into it i want to make sure everything is tip top and upgrade satnav etc.

I have read loads of threads but the PCM Porsche details are confusing

For starters my can's PCM is supposed to be PCM 3 - but the version number shows v1.41. Porsche literature says 2010 cars were PCM 3 , and I've confirmed my car is 2010 from the VIN.

So whats the relationship between the PCM version number and the software version number?

Anyway to find out how old the maps are ?

Anyone know an inexpensive way to upgrade the Satnav firmware and maps?

PCM 3 refers to the Hardware.

The Software will be much lower. It is for me. There are a lot of threads on here regarding the maps and how up to date they are.

Personally found my phone is way more up-to-date and reactive than the sat nav.

The latest maps were released in 2015 I believe - mine are on 2.24, which was released late 2013. I was quoted something like £295 to upgrade, but wasn't prepared to pay half that for something so out-of date.

It is a dealer upgrade, although there has been an offer in the past, so see what's available when a new version is available.
