Going away on holiday to Modbury in a couple of weeks, not TOO far from Plymouth, and looking for some recommendations for somewhere to eat. Not too expensive but far from bargain basement either....Happy with main meals of up to £15-20 excluding drinks....so maybe £30/head plus drinks if you have 3 courses.

Many thanks

I like the Journeys End at Ringmore which is not too far from Modbury.

The fish and chips is fantastic in my opinion, nice ales and really friendly. That all said I have only been for lunch.

The Village Inn at Thurlestone is nice.

Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island very nice.

Dartmouth - Saveurs on Victoria Road is lovely for lunch, very french, smashing. Also Dartmouth, lunchtime, cafe above the cake shop in Duke St is very um, old school, but cool cos the building is so wonky.

If you pop over to Brixham, there's a great cafe out on Berry Head. Also in Brixham, Rockfish by the new fishmarket.

National Trust cafe at Greenways is interesting (Agatha Christies House, accessible by boat trip only).
