For reference, the wife and I are mid forties and 18 months ago decided being slobs was not ideal

Started going to the gym, doing parkruns, and more recently road cycling

We entered the novice duathlon today in St Albans, run by Hercules and really enjoyed it

We did 2.5k run, 14k bike ride, 2.5k run

I did it in 1hr 02, wife in 1hr 17. Not quick but getting fitter. My legs were dead for the final run lol

I think I may have the bug it now as I really want to get better at running and cycling!

One guy did the 5k run, 20k ride and 2.5k run and finished just ahead of me mad

Well done!

I have my first one in two weeks, 2 mile run, 10 mile cycle then 2 mile run.

I've 15 running sessions under my belt - 5k/6k each but zero on the bike as I don't have one. I was to borrow my brothers bike but haven't had the chance to organise it.

I don't think thats too shabby at all.

Ive done quite a few triathlons up to iron distance and loads of running and I recon it would be a big effort to get close to that time!

Anyone doing the Richmond Duathlon this weekend?

10k Run, 45k Cycle, 5K Run

This is my first endurance event type exercise, I've done some practice over the last 2 months, managed 10k last night 75 mins on the treadmill with an incline of 1.0, and have been cycling for a while, practiced the race circuit of 4 laps of the park on Sunday with a time of 1hr 55.

Most worried about the last 5 k.

Any tips or is anyone else doing it?

I'm actually bricking it now!!!!
