Hazard Light Switch

Just a quickie..
I was just curious if anybody knew where i could get a replacement red plastic cover which goes over the hazard light switch. I have managed to break mine into small pieces, it the beyond the expert skills of my supergluing

I tried my local dealer, who did not seem very sure

Its the same size as the black switches is it not? Soooo, I'd find out where those come from first.

Maplins ML67X should do the trick (19p is worth a try) - If you need the switch to match they are only £1.99.

If you like i have a spare Leven Aluminium cap you can have if you want,

My Chim came with three Leven Caps and one black cap, so i had to buy three more Leven caps to replace the black one, so i have two spare.

I think the hazzard switch is supposed to light up but mine doesn't and all the ally caps look really good anyway

I have thought of this one myself as I have a couple of spare alloy buttons....what is the legality of not having an illuminated hazard switch ?

I was thinking of moding the switch with a red LED and drilling a hole in the alloy button to allow the LED to shine through.
Anyone else done something like this or should I just bung the cap on ?

I just spoke to an MOT tester who said that the hazzard light switch needed to be illuminated to pass new car regulations, but there is nothing in the MOT to check that it is still working.

Just bung the cap on :-)

the maplin switch fitted, £2.49 and a pair of pliers later , it fit like a glove

No prob as long you're happy. Damn things areeasier to replace than clean I reckon (but I do have a dozen of the damned things secreted around the dash doing weird/wonderful things :-)
