i've got it!!!

delivered to my house from the good people at opc reading... traded in my c4s which i was sad to see go as it was a great car. however c4s's are 10 a penny, so i can always go back if i'm feeling like a muppet.

anyway this gt2 was allegedly the first gt2 in the country back in 2001. therefore came standard with steel discs... result... then owned by kenneth chang i understand who is the director of gruppem... in fact the car has a few gruppem stickers on it which i asked to be left on as i thought it made the car look even more special... the car has 17k miles, is the clubsport version with large carbon fibre pack... it really looks the business.

more importantly, the drive. well i received the car saturday 3pm but didn;t get to drive it until sunday 7.30pm for various reasons. this car shifts. however coming from a 4 wheel drive with traction to the complete opposite i really didn;t feel that i had a clue what to do, so i took it easy and only blatted it when going in a striaght line, road clear up ahead and i was in 3rd gear min... clearly a waste of a great car, but i have organised a driver training day next week at millbrook proving ground - 1 on 1 all day going round the various hills loops etc to get a feel for the limits of the car. am also in the throws of booking bedford evening on the 22nd to get some track time. i really want to get to grips with this car, understand what it's all about and spend as much as it takes (driver training and track wise) to enjoy it to its maximum. it is clearly a wonderful car, very involving and therefore very rewarding.

i am SO glad i have bought it, my only concern is where do i go from here? is this the car of cars that i keep forever? it is everything i want / feel i need.

joined pcgb too... i am so fully in love with my car and all thigs porsche. i am soooooo happy !!!

Been in the trade cars come and go and you get a bit used to seeing them around and a little underwhelmed by them

BUT THAT IS THE DOGS DANGLIES............dont need to say it really but go steady til you are used to it!

Sooooooopurb!

I'll second poorcardealer's comment. RWD, HUGE power, no PSM - can I suggest driving it as if you'd crammed Ms Daisy into the rear seat until you have a handle on how it behaves...

And in the wet...oh boy...tootle, tootle, tootle!

You sound like you're going about it the right way though.

Enjoy! I know you will.

Oh....and come to a PCGB Track Day. e.g. Silverstone. Big, big fun! Although take it easy through Maggots/Becketts if you do - saw a GT2 do big damage through there. Very unlucky but it happened.

i booked a day with jeremy palmer of drivetrain uk (01283 762 497)... he did the rest.

believe me i will be taking it very easy. i'm driving it for the time being like there a cup of tea on the dashboard! until i know the limits - and to be fair even after that - i will be very careful... i have a one yeasr old daughter who i don't want to leave behind, but also more than hurting myself or the car, i am very anxious about hurting other road users... the time to push it (albeit gradually) is on the tracks. and there will be many track days this year... oh yes...

Be careful! There's bugger-all run-off on the Millbrook hill route and handling circuits, so don't spin! Having said that, the hill route is absolutely amazing to drive on - you'll enjoy it I'm sure. There are plenty of other facilities to try the side-ways action on, and the high-speed bowl is just terrifying...

Ah Kenny's GT2. He parks his cars where I used to live. I can guarantee that his cars have been well looked after and always securely garaged. His cars are in MINT condition.

Great choice
