Saw a tree up in the Brewer's Fare at Stourbridge on Saturday whilst staying in the adjacent Premier Inn

Mrs Cloggy baked 6 Christmas cakes 3 weeks ago that are now being 'fed' every week.

They are presents for friends.

Just like last year and the year before and the year before that etc etc etc.

Seriously, people complaining about 'Christmas stuff appearing in September' is actually more annoying than Christmas stuff appearing in September (which it has done for years - and will do for years to come).

Just accept the fact that as soon as the August bank holiday is over with and the kids are back at school - retail, pubs, hotels etc are officially on a countdown to Christmas.

As a kid - the countdown to Christmas for me started when the Autumn/Winter Argos catalogue came out biggrin

I did wonder why my armpits were itching. biggrin

But it's the same with Easter; as soon as Christmas cards come down it's the stocking of shelves with chocolatey eggs.

Plum pudding anyone?

Who is buying all this Christmas chocolate you're seeing in supermarkets at the moment?

I buy a few bits and bottles for the Xmas cupboard every week, so that my fortnight off is full of goodies with no last minute panicking /settling for the milkybar selection pack which are inevitably all that's left.

The kids are not aware of its existence.

I’m currently on a restricted diet; one thing I can’t eat is dried fruit. So that’s no Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, Stollen or mince pies. I’m not looking forward to Christmas this year!

If you soak the fruit in copious amounts of brandy, it can no longer be classed as dried.

I started doing this last year but got caught walking out of Sainsbury's with some Christmas cakes I'd not paid for.

Police charged me with handling stollen goods.
