The weekend that was
Discussion
One shampoo and wax later, the car is gleaming. Just in time for a great Sunday drive.
.
A few problems over the weekend though, I managed to drive away from my house with the handbrake on
. Not usually a problem but I parked up a little while later on a small hill. Came back 10 mins later to find my car had rolled 4ft and had been stopped by some people walking by, very grateful indeed.
That evening I pulled up into a garage and got a little too close to the kerb in front of me, managed to catch the kerb and when I reversed the plate just fell off the front on the car. Some people around were laughing, I also thought it was very funny
. I had done a similar thing in the S2000 a few years back, plate never fell off.
.
Two things are now on my list for improvements, the first is cleaning the interior and the second is new dampers and springs. The car clunks over bad street roads and although I think this is a 'feature' of the S1 I have read that the S2 suspension will providing a more subdued event when rolling over potholes or drains.
So, any ideas on either interior cleaning or upgrading the suspension?
Damn, sun is out, should be driving not working...

S2 suspension upgrade comes well recommended for day to day and occasional track use. If you're planning on tracking it more then LSS or Nitrons appear to be the way forwards.
Depending on where you are and who does it I believe the S2 upgrade is around £600ish (£500 for parts and labour, the rest for a geo to set it all up properly). There have been quite a few threads on this subject in the Tech Discussion forum on SELOC. It's something I'm considering come replacement time.
As for the interior, what are you in need of? A good valet or some retrimming?

Hmmm, so how do you know when the springs/dampers need to be replaced? If I can prevent the clonking then it will have to be done. No problem on nice roads or motorways but getting to them is sometimes a tip toe journey. Of course this all came about after I gave it a little too much speed over a railway crossing
S2 suspension will be fine, 6 miles from Sinclares so may give them a call for pricing.
A good valet I think would be the best bet at the moment.
