cagiva mito 125starting probs
Discussion
my son has a cagiva 125 mito, with starting probs , it has sparks and fuel is getting through but it just wont start at all, although if we keep spinning the damn thing for about tem minutes it will start to fire at idle but as soon as the throttle is touched it kills the engine, choke works ok , any idea's would help ...
Sounds like it's flooding... First question, is it carburated or injected? (Yes I know it's a 125, but they're pretty advanced these days)
Change the plug as a matter of course and check the air filter isn't dislodged or full of crud.
Has the problem come on gradually or all at once?

sounds like the float in the carb is stuck. I had this happen to my Sachs125. greese monkey striped down the carb, cleaned it up and it worked ok from then.
What i found was that to get the bike to work (and not have it cut out as soon as you twist the throttle) was to open it very gently. Until you have about 4K rpm.
Keep the choke off though as mine didn't start when it was ok.
That 125 was a heap of crap and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone (even though it was nice to look at)
Oh forgot to mention.
Is there water getting into and under the sparkplug cap?
Because when it would rain, water would geting past the spark plug cap and run down into the chamber, thus cutting out the spark plug. And with only one plug then engine would cut out. haha. Shite. always had to ride round with a can of WD-40.
