Is a big engined diesel Merc the answer for me?

Guys,

Seen a few threads recently where big engined mercs were thrown up as options.

On looking around there is actually quite a lot of choice, which surprised me since I have struggled to find something I like lately. £10k to £12k can actually buy you a reasonably modern (2010+) c class estate with a v6 3 litre diesel engine with auto gearbox. It should be smooth, relaxing yet powerful, large enough?

Have I found what I've been looking for in this model?

And they don't seem to be stupid prices for quite a lot of car, compared to some makes/models.

This C Class looks much more than a 5grand motor and the 280 can't be overstressed in it.

I don't know what you both have been drinking last night but:

(1) C6.3 is a very thirsty petrol engine
(2) The c280 in the add is also a tirsty petrol engine

If you want a large diesel then the v6 3 litre diesel engine is the one used in many models

eg

C350 cdi
E350 cdi
S350 cdi

even

R350 and GL350

you take your pick
