After nearly getting mugged in Holland Park by the squirrels last week I made a vow to go back and see just how close I could get for a good image.

Mrs CVP popped off to the Italian liestyle show at Earl's court (bring home lots of lovely different salamis and cold meats to taste - wonderful girl), so I had a free pass to go and see the furry monsters.

Didn't manage to get something greta but a few OK ones;

1. Where's my nuts then??

2. In here?

3. You better give me some or you're not going to like what I'm going to do in here!

4. Success at last

And the answer to the question of how close you can get is... climbing your trousers and also will take food from your hands if you want to. An ongoing mission with these guys I think.

If anyone is interested the best spot is at the North end of the park just off one of the paths that runs east west.

Might try a trip down there - but I'm a bit limited in having nothing wider than 20mm!!!!!

Don't worry, 20mm will be great. The one with the squirrel rooting about in the leaf litter was shot on a 20mm, you should be able to get something great as long as you don't get disturbed by either dogs trying to catch either the squrriels or rabbits, or the local neighbourhood nutter.

P.S. Don't worry about the nutters as if I'm around I'll deal with them for you as I seem to have an inbuilt "nutter attractor"

Here's one a I took a few years ago. The only problem is that the focus isn't in exactly the right place. Apart from that I think it's come out OK

Like the angle of view on it.

One tip I was given was to try and see the world from teh animal's viewpoint/height. Looking at a lot of the discarded ones from this weekend I see exactly what the person meant. Looks like it's time for a bit more lying on the ground to get the right angle.
