Whilst going through some old paperwork (finance agreements) it appears that I had PPI from a couple of companies that no longer exist, namely First National (brokered by Ocean Finance), Courts Furniture and RBS Advanta. First National and Courts were loans and RBS Advanta was a credit card.

All of the above were taken out in the late 90's to early 2000's.

Is it possible to claim this PPI back as the companies no longer exist? How do I go about doing so without involving a third party?

Most finance companies were absorbed by another company along the way. I used the resolver.co.uk website, its free of charge. I managed to get £3k back, but a mate of mine got five figures. Good luck!
